Description

This interactive panel discussion will explore risk management and dispute resolution in the life cycle of a typical construction project focusing on key project scenarios such as the contract negotiation, the kick off meeting, the change order negotiation, and finally the delay and disruption claim submittal, review, and rejection. The panel will explore international perspectives on how to effectively manage risk in each of these common scenarios and what they see from their experience the best practices are as well as the pitfalls that project teams need to avoid to ensure a successful project outcome with minimal claims and the minimization of potential litigation.

Upon completion of this seminar, you’ll have learned how to:
  • how to effectively manage and maneuver the contract negotiation process;
  • how to effectively conduct a kick off meeting and set the proper tone for the remainder of the project for the integrated team; and
  • how to handle and minimize change orders through the life cycle of the project to ensure successful resolution and to properly prepare and submit a delay/disruption claim and what the key elements are to minimize the chance of rejection.
